Growing Up Plain -an excerpt from Wilmer Cooper's book describes his childhood in Middleton , Ohio , the epicenter of  Ohio Conservative Quakerism where he grew up with his older brothers James and Thomas (both later served as business managers at Olney). Kenneth Morse (German teacher at Olney in the '60's) is mentioned as having run a grocery store.  Wilmer Cooper was a founder and Dean at the Earlham School of Religion.
